Biography
Peter Lemongello was almost "Unknown" when in January of 1976 he launched an
unprecedented TV ad campaign, blanketing the New York Television Market with
over 100 commercials per week to sell his Love 76 Mood-Rock album directly to
the public.
Within weeks it caused such a sensation that he could not "Walk the Streets"
without being barraged by fans of all ages. He quickly entered the L.A. & Vegas
markets.
He sold more albums than anyone had ever sold on TV and eventually topped the
Million Seller Mark to set a record in the industry.
All the Major publications immediately featured Peter: The Wall Street
Journal, Village Voice, Newsweek, Time, People, The London Sun, (Bachelor of the
Month in Cosmopolitan Magazine), Newsday, New York Times, L.A. Times, Las Vegas
Sun. and that's just a few.
Right away, Saturday Night Live did take-offs on Peter and Mood-Rock music.
Every Major TV Show booked him. Tonight Show, Merv Griffin, Dinah Shore, Mike
Douglas, Today Show, CBS "60 Minutes" did a feature.
Concerts were an immediate "Sell Out" in a matter of hours. Carnegie Hall,
Madison Square Garden, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, The Westbury
Music Fair, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Branson Missouri and so many more venues
over the years.
